Loretta BLAKE

Orange born Loretta Blake has always enjoyed an interest in art and thirty five years ago she began to paint seriously. Her paintings feature in private collections throughout Australia and overseas.
When Loretta visited the famed galleries of Europe and United Kingdom it cemented her commitment to follow her love of art and she began to paint full-time. This commitment included the continual development under the tutelage of great artists including her highly respected still life tutor, the late David Wilson of the Julian Aston School, Sydney, and the Macquarie Art School in Bathurst.
Flowers, a first love of subject matter, gradually gave way to the exploration of people and landscape, whilst still expressing vibrancy and spontaneity. Loretta’s distinctive use of colour and considerable technical skill showcases her wealth of natural talent.
Her first successful exhibition was in Sydney in 1987 at Geo Styles Gallery. Loretta has enjoyed commercial success exhibiting extensively across the Australia and Overseas. She is also very active in the artist community exhibiting, tutoring and as first patron of FMSA. She was also one the original “Six of the Turps” group.
Loretta feels privileged that her painting, a career she loves, enables her to enjoy a life with her husband Barry and artist daughter in a regional close community.
